After watching the video you found, I liked the the terms digital natives and technologically savvy to describe the 21st century learner. Given that technology comes so naturally to the students it appears the next step would be to push them and ourselves to use these skills to make global connections.
Megan- you are absolutely right about making global connections. The other thing to keep in mind about students being digital natives is that they do know how to use technology, but they don't always understand the social parameters and using it for "good". That's why digital citizenship is so important at an early age. Any time kids are using technology, conversations should be taking place around being a good citizen.
